Where It All Began
Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron – Melbourne, Victoria
My journey in the marine industry began at the age of 15 when I started my apprenticeship as a shipwright with Down Under Marine at the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron.
Working alongside experienced tradesmen, I learnt the foundations of traditional boatbuilding, maintenance and repairs on club yachts, sailing boats and privately owned vessels. It was here that my passion for quality craftsmanship and attention to detail was formed—values that continue to guide every project at Reynolds Marine Craft Construction today.
Next Chapter..
Sandringham Marine – Melbourne, Victoria
Working at Sandringham Marine expanded my experience across a wide range of vessel repairs, maintenance and restoration projects. During my time there, I was involved in structural fibreglass repairs, complete resprays, gelcoat restoration and general marine maintenance on both recreational and high-performance sailing yachts.
Many of the vessels we worked on were built to compete in internationally recognised offshore races, including the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, the Osaka Cup Race, and other prestigious events. Working on these yachts reinforced the importance of precision, reliability and workmanship that could withstand some of the toughest conditions at sea.
It was during this stage of my career that I developed a strong appreciation for delivering repairs and finishes to the highest standard, knowing that every detail contributes to a vessel's safety, performance and longevity.
Noosa Marine – Sunshine Coast, Queensland
Relocating to Queensland opened the door to custom boat construction at Noosa Marine, where I worked under Julian building handcrafted composite vessels from the ground up.
During my time working there, I was involved in every stage of construction, from structural laminating and composite assembly through to fairing to final finish. Each build demanded a high level of precision and craftsmanship, reinforcing the importance of quality at every stage of the process.
One of the standout projects was the custom high-performance vessel "Tank", purpose-built to achieve speeds of over 110 km/h. Working on a project of this calibre further developed my skills in composite construction, structural integrity and attention to detail, while proving what can be achieved when performance and craftsmanship come together.
The experience gained at Noosa Marine strengthened my passion for custom boatbuilding and laid the foundation for the premium workmanship that Reynolds Marine Craft Construction is known for today.

United Kingdom
Fairline Yachts & Sunseeker International
Working in the United Kingdom provided the opportunity to contribute to the construction and finishing of luxury motor yachts for two of the world's most recognised yacht manufacturers.
During this time I further developed my skills in composite construction, production boatbuilding, precision fit-out and high-end finishing, working within large-scale manufacturing environments where quality, consistency and attention to detail were paramount.
Due to strict company confidentiality policies, photography inside both Fairline and Sunseeker facilities was prohibited. While I can't publicly share images from this period of my career, the experience gained continues to influence the workmanship, processes and standards I bring to every project today.
"Some of the most valuable lessons in my career were learned where cameras weren't allowed."
Cure Marine
Sunshine Coast, Queensland
Joining Cure Marine marked another significant step in my career, working with a team dedicated to the construction of premium composite fast cruising catamarans.
My role involved every stage of the build process, from structural laminating and composite fabrication through to fairing, finishing and final fit-out. Working on custom-built vessels reinforced the importance of precision, teamwork and maintaining exceptionally high standards throughout every stage of construction.
Being involved in the build of these world-class vessels further strengthened my experience in modern composite boatbuilding and prepared me for the next chapter—establishing Reynolds Marine Craft Construction.
From production yacht building to custom composite construction, every stage of my career has shaped the standards I work to today.
Every project is built by people. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside some incredibly talented tradesmen and mentors throughout my career. Their knowledge, professionalism and commitment to quality continue to influence the standards I bring to Reynolds Marine Craft Construction today.
